Then there is the organized tours like the tour through the redwood forest or the desert. Now, this kind of tour goes by slowly; thus, you'll have more time to enjoy the scenery.
Taking part in a cycling event is a great way to challenge yourself as you'll be competing with other cyclists. Going on bike tours outside your hometown has several advantages. Signing up for a bike race on a route you've never been can be really interesting. Even if you study the route and know ahead of time where the hills and valleys are, there will be areas of the road you're not familiar with. You will have to be on at all times and really think ahead to make sure you're staying on course.
